My paintings are contemplations, contemplations on the textures, colors, forms and sensory experiences of the world around me and on the insights that they inspire. Most interesting to me, and perhaps the reason that people have described my work as “surrealistic” or “ethereal”, is the sense of shifting thresholds elicited by clouds obscuring mountains, by light affecting form and by objects losing themselves in sun and shadow. It is a sense of edges blending between image and reflection, between an entity and its surroundings, between the present and the past.
