Still in the first block of Church Street, just down from the steeple of the Unitarian Church and the turrets of the Richardson Building, is "Bacon's Block," (1847), named for local developer Nelson Bacon. Many thanks to the University of Vermont's Historic Burlington Project for the details of these historic buildings.

Amanda Amend captures the mystery behind the everyday in luminous watercolor.
