It is beautiful any time of year, even in the bitter cold as on this day. If you look closely you can see the bronze statue of saxophonist Big Joe Burrell under the canopy on the right. Burrell learned from Count Basie and B.B. King and passed his knowledge on to a new generation of musicians including Trey Anastasio of Phish.
Amanda Amend captures the mystery behind the everyday in luminous watercolor.
