This beautiful and deadly creature was a metaphor in a conversation with a dear and imaginative friend. She said, with a mischievous smile, that her vision of God is a Portuguese Man of War. How? Well, we are all strands of a greater body. We are here in the depths, finding our way through the waters of life and not fully aware of the luminous being above the great divide. I love that image, so I painted this as a gift for her.
Amanda Amend captures the mystery behind the everyday in luminous watercolor.
